Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Aladdin, dragons and genies – fairy-tale figures that have fascinated, frightened and delighted people across the ages and cultures. Many are familiar with them from countless picture books. How do the illustrations of fairy tales change one’s own perception of a story? What does a posture or a facial expression reveal? Does the illustration differ from one’s own imagination – and why? The artist Helga Gebert has illustrated fairy tales such as those from the Grimm Brothers ‘Children’s and Household Tales’ or from ‘The Arabian Nights’, but also thought up her own stories – fantastical, subtle and full of fascinating characters.
The guided tour of the exhibition ‘ZWISCHEN GESTALTEN’ (RESHAPING TALES) for school groups will introduce Helga Gebert as an illustrator and author who, in the 1970s at the Beltz & Gelberg publishing house, played a key role in the development of German literature for children and young adults – and whose illustrations raise very contemporary questions about fairy tales.
The tour can be adapted to all ages in terms of content.

Arrival |
On arrival, participants are requested to wait outside the GRIMMWELT building until the teacher / accompanying person has registered the group at the cash desk and paid the entrance fee. |

Ticket |
Before the group enters the building, he teacher / accompanying person will be given a sticker (instead of an individual ticket) for each group member. These stickers must be displayed visibly on group members’ clothing. |
Lockers |
Bags, jackets, coats, etc. must be deposited at the coat rack or in a locker. |
Guided tour |
You will receive a booking confirmation from Kassel Marketing for your tour. This confirmation will indicate whether payment is to be made directly to the tour guide (in cash on site) or whether you will receive an invoice from Kassel Marketing via email afterward and pay by bank transfer. |

Guided tour |
If a booked tour is cancelled up to 11 working days before the scheduled date, a processing fee of 15 € per group will be charged. The entire sum due must be paid for cancellations made 10 or fewer working days before the scheduled tour date. |

The walk from Kassel Main Line station (Hauptbahnhof) to the GRIMMWELT takes about 20-30 minutes. |

Tram |
Take a RegioTram or KVG tram to the “Rathaus” or “Rathaus/Fünffensterstraße” stop, then follow the signposted pedestrian route (approx. a 7-minute walk). |
Alighting point |
Visitors arriving by coach should head for the coach stop Brüder-Grimm-Platz (satnav destination: “Brüder-Grimm-Platz”). From the coach stop, follow the signposted pedestrian route to the GRIMMWELT (approx. 4 minutes). |

Parking |
There are no parking facilities for coaches at the GRIMMWELT. Coach parking is available at the Naturkundemuseum/Ottoneum at Papinplatz (satnav destination: “Papinplatz”). The GRIMMWELT is approx. a 15-minute walk from there. |
