Info

Although Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm are mainly known as the collectors of the “Children’s and Household Tales”, they were—above all—ground-breaking linguists who are regarded as co-founders of German studies.

When the Brothers Grimm agreed to compile a “German Dictionary” in 1838, they had only a vague idea of the vast amount of work this project would entail. Living history and stories are intertwined with this, the greatest and most comprehensive dictionary of the German language, also known simply as “The Grimm”.

Discover more about the Brothers Grimm working methods and immerse yourself in the world of language and words!
